The summary for the first few minutes
Attacks under 20 minutes are counted separately, drop attacks and warning signs are highlighted. Entries added afterwards are marked. That way your doctor knows what to rely on.

Equilo logs your attacks, even on Apple Watch or from the Lock Screen. That becomes a report your ENT doctor can actually work with during your appointment.
Equilo is currently in review at Apple. Write to me and I'll let you know as soon as it launches. For iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. Free, Plus is optional. In English, German, Danish and Dutch.
My mother has vertigo attacks. She needed a diary she could use even in the middle of an attack, without glasses and without having to think. She tests every version of Equilo first.
Till Heidrich, developer of Equilo, Tostedt
Equilo comes from aequilibrium, Latin for balance. Inside it are aequus, calm and even, and libra, the scales. It stands for the moment after an attack, when the world stands still again and you find your footing once more.
Where the name comes from
Nobody fills in a form while the room is spinning. Equilo starts logging with one tap and only asks for details later, with three big buttons instead of sliders.

Page 1 of the doctor report is a summary for the first few minutes: your questions, attacks by duration in the grid of the Bárány criteria, hearing, daily life and treatment. After that comes the vertigo diary, laid out like the one used by the vertigo clinic in Lübeck: type, duration, severity, how it started, symptoms and what you did. Everything your doctor sees is free.

Enter audiograms from your clinic. Equilo shows hearing tests from the Health app, such as the AirPods hearing test, alongside them. The low-frequency range appears as a curve over time, honestly framed as a trend and not as a clinical finding.

Attacks in the 90 days before and after a treatment. As a comparison over time, with the note that attacks often become less frequent on their own.
Collect what you want to ask. Open questions appear at the very top of the report so they don't get lost during the appointment.
The twitching of your eyes tells the ENT a lot. Someone with you films for 30 seconds, and Equilo explains beforehand how to get it right. You can watch the video later, send it to the clinic or import one from your Photos.

So far, nobody anywhere has a reliable way to predict Ménière's attacks. That's why Equilo doesn't sell one. Instead, the pattern analysis checks whether sleep, stress, mood, vital signs or weather coincide with your attacks, and looks back to check whether it would have been right. Only then does it show you anything. The pattern analysis is part of Equilo Plus.

With “How I'm doing” you share your day, your week or your month as an image, for example via WhatsApp. Calm days count just as much as hard ones. You decide what's on it with a few switches.

Between attacks, life goes on, with tablets, prescriptions and days that are hard to describe. Equilo does the remembering for you.

There's a lot of half-knowledge going around about Ménière's. Equilo puts guidelines, Cochrane reviews and current studies into everyday language, each with its source and a note on how solid it is.
“Eating less salt cures Ménière's.”There isn't a single placebo-controlled study on this (Cochrane 2023). Trying it can still be reasonable.
“In the end, both ears always go deaf.”It usually stays with one ear, and hearing often levels off in the middle range (Huppert 2010).
Equilo has no server of its own that stores your entries. There's no account, no advertising and no third-party analytics tool.
Your entries live on your iPhone. If you like, Face ID locks the app, with a grace period you choose yourself.
Syncing with iPad and Watch runs through your private iCloud. I don't see any of it.
Equilo only reads sleep, heart rate and state of mind with your permission and doesn't store them.
Text suggestions are created with Apple Intelligence right on your iPhone, without a server.
Plus is for anyone who wants more analysis or would like to support development. The annual subscription starts with a free month. If you don't want a subscription, buy Plus once and share it via Family Sharing.
Everything you need in daily life and at the doctor's. What your doctor sees stays free.
More analysis and convenience.

No. Equilo is a diary. The app doesn't diagnose, doesn't predict attacks and doesn't recommend any treatment. It helps you keep a record of how things develop and talk about it with your doctor.
No. The Watch is handy because you can start an attack there with one tap and then add the type, intensity and, if you like, your symptoms. But everything also works with just your iPhone.
Only what you set up: your medication (with “Taken” right in the notification), your daily entry, an attack that has been open for hours, and in good time before a pack runs out. At night Equilo stays quiet, and you set the quiet hours yourself.
No, not at the moment. Equilo is built for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch because it uses features like Live Activities, the Watch and the Health app.
No. There's no account. Your data stays on your device and, if you want, in your private iCloud.
The download is free, including the doctor report, hearing history and Acute help. In Germany, Plus costs €2.99 a month, €24.99 a year with a free month, or €49.99 once. Thanks to Family Sharing, the one-time purchase also covers your family.
In almost every country with an App Store. The app speaks English, German, Danish and Dutch. Some help content, such as phone numbers and health insurance notes, is written for Germany; crisis lines are only shown there.

New iPhone or reinstalled the app? Go to Settings › Equilo Plus and tap “Restore Purchases”. What counts is the Apple ID you bought it with.
That's handled by Apple: iPhone Settings › your name › Subscriptions. If you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal, you won't pay anything more.
In the app under Settings › Equilo Plus › Redeem Code. Or in the App Store: tap your profile picture, then “Redeem Gift Card or Code”.
In the app's settings you can create a backup, password-protected if you like, and export your data as PDF or CSV. That's also how it gets onto a new device.
Equilo has no account and no password to forget. Your entries live on your device and, if you want, in your private iCloud.
Equilo is free for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. If you start before your next ENT appointment, you'll already have a few weeks of history with you.
